Alison
Leslie Gold was born and grew up in New York
City. She was educated at
the University of North Carolina, Mexico City College and the
New School for Social Research in New York City. She has published
fiction, non-fiction and journalism, and has also written for
radio and television. Her many awards
include: 2001 - Notable books for a Global Society, for A Special Fate
1998 - Nomination - Pen-West Literary Award, for The Devil's Mistress
1998 - Notable Children's Books, for Memories of Anne Frank
1997 - Nomination - National Book Award, for Devil's Mistress

25 years, for Anne Frank Remembered 1988 - Christopher Award, for Anne Frank Remembered 1987 - Merit of Educational Distinction by the International Center of Studies of the Anti-Defamation League, for Anne Frank Remembered Ms. Gold has often lived abroad, and presently divides her time between New York City and Greece. |
